1. How many readers and electric locks can one 4-door controller manage?
A standard 4-door controller typically supports 4 entry readers and 4 electric locks, along with 4 exit buttons. Some models also support dual readers (entry/exit bidirectional authentication) for each door. Please refer to the product specifications for details.

 

2.If one door fails (e.g., lock malfunction or reader no response), will it affect the normal operation of the other three doors?
No. The controller handles each door channel independently. A single door failure (such as a short circuit or faulty device) usually does not affect the access authorization or switching logic of the other doors. It is recommended to check the wiring of the faulty door or replace the corresponding port device.

 

3.Does the controller support remote door control and real-time status monitoring for all four doors?
Yes. When connected via TCP/IP or RS485, you can remotely open or close doors from the management software, and view real-time status of each door, including door sensor feedback and alarm events (e.g., door left open too long or forced entry).

 

4.Will the four doors unlock or stay locked during a power outage?
It depends on the power supply and lock type selected. If the controller is equipped with a backup battery, it can continue operating. For fail-safe locks (e.g., magnetic locks that require continuous power to stay locked), doors will unlock during a power outage. For fail-secure locks (e.g., electric mortise locks with spring action), doors will remain locked. It is recommended to choose based on fire safety regulations.
