Waterproof Wiegand & OSDP Readers, EM, HID & Mifare Cards Compatible

Description of Wiegand & OSDP Readers

125KHz & 13.56MHz
1. What are Wiegand and OSDP readers?
Wiegand readers communicate using the legacy Wiegand protocol (introduced in the 1980s) – a unidirectional, unencrypted 2-wire interface that sends credential data from reader to panel.
OSDP readers use the Open Supervised Device Protocol – a bidirectional, encrypted RS-485 protocol that allows readers and panels to exchange commands, status, and configuration data. Most modern access control readers support both protocols.
2. Can I run OSDP and Wiegand on the same cable?
No. Wiegand and OSDP use different electrical signaling and cannot share wires.
3. What is this Wiegand and OSDP reader's Secure Channel (encryption)?
OSDP Secure Channel Protocol (SCP) provides AES-128 encryption for all communication between reader and panel
