1. Is face access control secure against photos or videos?

Yes, modern Facial Access Control systems are specifically designed to prevent spoofing attacks. Older or low-end systems could potentially be fooled by a high-resolution photograph, but contemporary solutions utilize 3D binocular cameras and infrared (IR) sensors. These technologies map the depth and texture of a face, making it impossible to unlock the system using a photo, video, or even a silicone mask. If the system cannot detect a live, three-dimensional presence, access is denied.

2. How does face access control system work?
Unlike facial recognition used for surveillance (identifying a stranger in a crowd), access control uses 1:N verification or 1:1 verification.

> 1:N: The camera captures your face and compares it against a database of authorized users to find a match. If found, the door unlocks.
> 1:1: You present a credential (card or phone) first, and then the camera confirms that the face matches that specific user profile.
 
3. Will it work in the dark?
Yes. True facial access control terminals have built-in infrared illuminators. They project invisible light, allowing the camera to capture a high-contrast image of your face regardless of ambient lighting conditions.
